International Labor and Employment Laws, Volume II covers developments through 2007 into 2008, updating chapters on additional economies around the world beyond the major economies included in Volume I, plus a new chapter on Switzerland. In the Third Edition, the authors of country chapters include additional information on extraterritorial application of each country’s laws and availability of class action procedures. The extensive bibliography provides sources of additional information on the countries discussed in the individual chapters, including sources on the Internet and addresses of key offices.
The four volumes that now comprise Volume I and Volume II include a total of 42 country chapters, plus chapters on related topics. The 2009 Supplement to Volume II of International Labor and Employment Laws includes:
- A new chapter on Vietnam
- A revised chapter on Australia, including discussion of the Fair Work Act 2009, creating a new collective bargaining system, reformed unfair dismissal rules, and the establishment of a new regulatory body, Fair Work Australia
- An updated chapter on Bulgaria discussing new developments in labor law reforms, including amendments to conform Bulgarian labor law to EU legislation and to assure better enforcement and strict sanctions for violations of labor law
